Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 7, 2026
The Short Version
This policy explains what Fluen AI ("Fluen", "we") collects when you use the Fluen app on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and Apple Vision Pro, and when you visit fluenai.app.
- Your health records are used only to run Fluen for you. We never sell them and never use them for advertising.
- Fluen shows no ads and does not track you across other apps or websites.
- Nobody else sees your records unless you choose to share them through Family Sharing or with a doctor, and you can stop sharing at any time.
- Before any AI answer is created in the cloud, Fluen tells you what will be sent and asks for your permission. Apple Intelligence answers stay on your device.
- You can delete your entries at any time, and delete your whole account from inside the app.
1. Information We Collect
Account information. When you sign in with Apple, Google or email, we receive your name, email address and an account identifier. If you sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email, we receive Apple's relay address instead. You can also use Fluen as a guest without giving us a name or email. If you choose to, you can add a username, which lets family members find you, and a profile photo.
Health records you enter. This includes bathroom visits (time, volume, urine colour, duration, symptoms), bowel movements (Bristol type and colour), drinks, your hydration goal, and the age, sex, health conditions and medical notes you add to a profile. It also covers your answers to the onboarding questions, the profiles you create for family members, the healthcare providers you save (including any contact details you type in for them), and a record of the reports you create. The PDF reports themselves are created on your device. A report is stored on our servers only if you choose to send it to a doctor (section 5).
Doctor profile. If you create a doctor profile in Fluen, we store the name, specialty, clinic, city, country, phone number and username you enter, and a profile photo if you add one. Section 5 explains which of these are public.
Apple Health. With your permission, Fluen reads and writes water intake and reads your step count. Data from Apple Health is never used for advertising or data mining and is never sold. You can change this permission at any time in the Health app.
Flo and other AI features. Your conversations with Flo, the facts Flo saves to remember what matters to you, and any photo or file you attach to a message. See section 3 for where these go.
Voice and sound. Voice input is transcribed by Apple's speech recognition, on your device when your device supports it and otherwise by Apple's servers. Sound based visit detection runs entirely on your device. We do not record or store your audio.
Purchases. Your subscription status and purchase history, received from Apple and processed by RevenueCat. Payment is handled by Apple; we never receive your card details.
Device and diagnostic information. Your device model, operating system and app version, the identifiers needed to deliver notifications and to confirm requests come from the real Fluen app (such as the Firebase installation ID, a push notification token and an identifier for this app on your device), crash reports, and anonymous statistics about how the app is used and how it performs. Usage statistics are not linked to your account.
Things you send us. Messages and feedback you send through the app or our support page, the details a doctor enters in the doctor waitlist form on this website (name, email, phone number, country, specialty, clinic and an optional message), and, if you cancel a subscription, the reason you choose and any note you add.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide Fluen: logging, analytics, reports, reminders, streaks and profiles.
- To sync your diary across your devices when you are signed in.
- To create Flo answers, Dashboard insights and smart reminder schedules when you ask for them.
- To run Family Sharing and doctor sharing with the people you choose.
- To manage your subscription, credits and purchases, and to restore them on a new device.
- To send the notifications you turn on, such as reminders, Family Sharing invitations and doctor sharing updates.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fraud, and confirm requests come from the genuine app.
- To tell you when the service has a problem and to compensate you when it does.
- To answer your support requests and to fix crashes and improve performance.
We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it with data brokers, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not combine it with information from other companies to profile you.
3. AI Features
Apple Intelligence. When you choose Apple Intelligence for Flo, Dashboard insights or smart reminders, everything is processed on your device and nothing is sent to us or to anyone else.
Cloud AI (Google Gemini). When you choose a Gemini model, your request goes through our servers to Google's Gemini models on Google Cloud. Fluen asks for your permission before the first cloud request. Depending on the feature, the request can contain:
- Flo: your messages, your age, sex and health conditions, summaries of your recent entries, the facts Flo has saved, and any photo or file you attach.
- Dashboard insights: your age, sex, hydration goal, health conditions and medical notes, and totals from today and this week (counts, volumes, colours, symptoms and times of day).
- Smart reminders: your waking hours, hydration goal, and patterns from the last 14 days (drinks and visits by hour, night time visits and symptom counts).
- Apple Watch: one sentence you dictate, and today's totals, when your iPhone is out of reach.
Your name and email address are never included. Google processes these requests to return an answer and does not use them to train its models. Attached photos are used for that one answer and are not kept. When you turn on web search for a Flo message, your question is also used to search the web through Google. You can switch back to Apple Intelligence at any time. See Google's Privacy Policy.
4. Family Sharing
Family Sharing lets you link your account with people you choose. It only happens after both of you agree.
- What is shared: only the logs you pick, from bathroom visits, drinks and bowel movements. Your profile details, health conditions, medical notes, reports, providers and Flo conversations are never shared.
- What the other person sees about you: your name and your username, and your profile photo if your photo setting allows it.
- Stopping: either of you can stop sharing at any time. Access ends immediately.
- Usernames: someone who types your exact username can see your name, and your photo if your setting is Everyone. There is no list or search of all users.
- Email invitations: when you invite someone by email, we use the address once to deliver the invitation and store only a scrambled form of it. We never tell the sender whether that address has a Fluen account.
Your profile photo. In Personal Details you choose who can see your photo: Everyone (people who find your username, people you invite, and family), Family (only the people you share with) or Only Me. Family is the default. When you narrow this setting, links to your photo that were given out earlier stop working.
5. Sharing With a Doctor
You can choose to share the logs of one profile with a doctor who uses Fluen. It only happens after you agree on a consent screen, and nothing is shared until you choose it.
- What you choose: which profile to share (not your other profiles), which logs (bathroom visits, drinks, bowel movements) and how often the doctor is notified.
- What the doctor sees about you: your name and username, and your year of birth and sex if you entered them. The doctor does not see the health conditions and medical notes in your profile.
- What the doctor can read: the full entries you share, including the notes and symptoms on each entry. Share only what you are comfortable with the doctor reading.
- Stopping: sharing ends after 12 months unless you renew it, and you can stop at any time from the Doctor screen. Access ends immediately. Logs a doctor has already seen cannot be taken back.
- PDF reports: if you send a doctor a PDF report, that file is stored on our servers so the doctor can open it. Only that doctor can read it, and it is deleted when you stop sharing with them or delete your account.
- Self declared doctors: anyone can create a doctor profile. Fluen does not verify that a person is a licensed professional unless the profile is marked verified. Share only with a doctor you know.
If you are a doctor. The name, clinic, city, country and username you enter are public. Anyone can look you up by your username, and your page at fluenai.app can be opened by anyone who has its link. If you choose to be listed, your profile also appears in our public doctor directory once we approve it. If you choose Private, it does not. Your photo is public only if your photo setting is Everyone. Your profile is labelled as self declared wherever it is shown.
A doctor's phone number. The phone number you add to your doctor profile is shown to the patients you link with and to anyone who redeems your code or invitation. It is not shown on your public page at fluenai.app. Leave it empty if you do not want it shared.
The doctor waitlist. If you join the doctor waitlist on fluenai.app, we use the details you give only to review your request and to contact you. They are not shown to anyone else.
6. Service Providers
We use a small number of providers to run Fluen. They process data only on our behalf:
- Google Firebase (Google LLC): sign in, database, file storage, server functions, notifications, app integrity checks, crash reports and anonymous usage and performance statistics. Advertising features in Firebase Analytics are turned off.
- Google Cloud (Gemini): cloud AI answers, only when you choose a Gemini model (section 3).
- RevenueCat: subscription and purchase management.
- Apple: Sign in with Apple, in app purchases, notifications, Apple Health, speech recognition, and iCloud, which keeps your data in step between your Apple devices in your private iCloud storage.
- Google Sign In: only if you choose to sign in with Google.
- Cloudflare Turnstile: a spam check on the support and doctor waitlist forms on this website.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users. Your information is processed in the United States and in other countries where these providers operate.
7. Storage and Security
Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access rules on our servers let only your own account read your records, apart from the logs you share through Family Sharing or with a doctor. Requests to our servers must come from the genuine Fluen app. On your device, you can lock Fluen with Face ID, Touch ID or Optic ID.
8. Keeping and Deleting Your Data
We keep your information for as long as your account exists. You can delete any entry, profile, provider, report or conversation in the app at any time.
Deleting your account. Go to Profile, then Personal Details, then Delete Account. This deletes your account and the personal and health data stored with it, including your Family Sharing and doctor links, any PDF reports you sent to a doctor and, if you have one, your doctor profile and its public page. We keep only the records we are required to keep for tax, accounting and fraud prevention, such as the record of a purchase. Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription; cancel it in your Apple ID settings.
9. Your Choices and Rights
- See and correct your information in the app at any time.
- Export your diary as a PDF report or a backup file.
- Turn off cloud AI, Apple Health access, notifications, Family Sharing and doctor sharing whenever you want.
- Delete your account and its data from inside the app.
Depending on where you live, including the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and California, you may have further rights, such as the right to a copy of your data, to object to or restrict processing, or to complain to your data protection authority. To use any of these rights, contact us through our Support page.
10. No Advertising or Tracking
Fluen contains no advertising and no advertising or attribution tools. It does not access your device's advertising identifier and does not track you across apps and websites owned by other companies.
11. Children
Fluen is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly let children under 13 create their own account. A parent or caregiver may keep a profile for a child inside their own account, or link with a child through Family Sharing. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. This Website
fluenai.app uses Google Analytics for Firebase to count visits and understand which pages are read. It uses cookies and similar technology to do so and collects information such as the pages you view, your browser and your approximate location based on your IP address. The website does not ask you for health information. Its doctor pages show the public details described in section 5, and its support and doctor waitlist forms use a spam check from Cloudflare (section 6).
13. Not a Medical Device
Fluen is a health tracking tool, not a medical device, and its AI answers are for information only. Always consult a healthcare professional for diagnosis and treatment.
14. Changes to This Policy
We will update this policy when Fluen changes how it handles information, and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app.
15. Contact Us
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or your data, contact us through our Support page.
